what a day!

Friends, ok the live streams had some good aspects, but the format I had planned just did not work out so I have a strategy for the next live that I think will work out better. Today there has been so much waiting and frustration. Waiting to start the live, waiting for Phil to come home and I come home to find he mowed down my garden!

Friends, today is the day! Today we will be live with another episode of Sweet Tea and Psalms. It is episode 3 and we will be talking about Psalm 3. 10 am EST. 

I will be making my sweet tea this morning. 

It's almost my Mom's birthday. I have a couple of bracelets I'll be giving her and I'll need to figure out something else to get her.

Friends, this morning we filmed the lighthouse and picked up the movie footage so I can start editing the movie. I need to record a narration for the very beginning and another scene. I'm waiting for something to arrive from Amazon so we can film that scene. 

We're going to use the drone this evening for the beginning. 

I'm going to record my album this weekend. Sweet Tea and Psalms Friday morning.

Hello friends, 

I don't have much to say today. I'm going to be working soon and that will be about it today. This Friday I'll be doing episode 3 of Sweet Tea and Psalms and we will be talking about Psalm 3. I will be singing Victory in Jesus since that was a request Edna made. I'll have to find other hymns to sing since we will need to learn April's request before singing that one. I'm not very familiar with it. 


They are interviewing Fauci and his role he played in the Covid-19 epidemic. His agency funded it. It did not get released from the lab. He did not disclose his role when his book was released. He did not tell the world his whole story.

Friends, today was a successful morning. I was able to get a workout in and then coffee from Marathon. Then it was time to go to prayer. I'll go to work in a little bit. 

I will need to do a test run of Sweet Tea and Psalms soon to see how the audio changes fare. I might need to upgrade my webcam to keep with YouTube's settings.

happy monday

I had such a wonderful weekend. Not only did we get a ton of filming done, but I got to spend some much needed extra time with Phil with no serious agenda. We got to just enjoy ourselves. 

We missed the theatre premiere of Masters of the Universe so we scheduled Sunday afternoon as a date, 2 pm, and watched it on Amazon Prime. We had popcorn, drinks and candy. It was good. There is going to be a Masters of the Universe 2 and I'm looking forward to seeing She-Ra when it comes out. 

Because we were able to film Saturday and Sunday, my music video for Psalm 71 is nearly complete. 

We filmed The Great Galaxy Bake Off Bandits Friday afternoon. We have to film one more scene, but hopefully I can be given the footage soon and then I can start editing that movie. 

I'm looking forward to scheduling a recording session so I can finish my album. It will be in August so I'm thinking about reserving the first Saturday.

a good day and evening of filming



We successfully launched episode 2 of this series. It was a good session complete with singing Blessed Assurance. 


Next Friday, July 31st will be episode 3. It will feature Psalm 3 and a request of singing Victory in Jesus



We were successful and had a great turnout for this cute story. I think once everyone sees it together, they will understand more of how the process works. I'm actually really hoping I get to edit because there's a lot of features that I do that Michael doesn't and it really makes a difference on how the movie looks in the end.

today is filming day!

Hello friends, today is not only filming day with Windsong Pictures, but I'll be doing Sweet Tea and Psalms episode 2. 
Today I'll be talking about the Psalm and a little bit about how people seem to have an invisible list of criteria that you have to meet before they will answer your text. There is a 15 year old in the church that is very, very busy, yet still has the time to maintain our over 100 message streak. She tells me about her life and responds to what's going on in my life. She's better than most adults. Even when I had 3 foster kids, I still took the time to answer people. Imagine if God treated people this way. Imagine if God said, ahhh, I'm too busy to answer that prayer. I just really think that people need to shown that they matter. They need to know that someone is willing to listen. We need to show people the love of Christ-even people we don't know like cashiers and other workers. They are working so that they can make a living, but they are also needed to help us too. It would be very difficult to check out of a store if there are no cashiers. It would be very difficult to go to a restaurant if there were no workers. 

It will be very difficult to inspire others to be a Christian if they are not treated well. Let's be radical. Let's be kind! Let's show love to all!

happy thursday

I'm washing my workout clothes and then I'll be heading to the gym. They should be dry enough pretty soon. I'll do a workout and then head to work. I've been writing a new song. It's all about praising God when things are bad or good and giving your burdens to God. It can be very hard to do that-we have a tendency to want to "fix" everything ourselves and while that's not totally wrong-since we are humans we do need to do some of the legwork, but we can pray to God to help us along the way. It brings a sense of peace because we know that God is powerful. I think sometimes people think there are certain things you just don't bother God with or God is just this higher power that we believe in for salvation, but everything else is up to us, but this isn't just true. Yes, God is a higher power than we need to trust in, but we need to trust in him for everything, not just for Biblical needs.

Friends, yesterday I was finally able to return to the gym, get a good workout, then go in the sauna for a few minutes. I have an update on my worship album coming out. It should be able to be recorded in August.

 Also, I've been wanting to start getting to work earlier than normal. Since my sleep keeps getting interrupted, this has been rather difficult, but still, any time earlier is better.

So tonight we are having dinner at Culver's because in a couple of years a young lady in our church will be taking a field trip to Japan, so they starting their fundraising now. I got cheese curds and root beer and Phil got a beef roast sandwich meal.

happy sunday afternoon

I think I have found out what happened to James and Melissa. It's a very sad situation that I hope gets resolved quickly. I'm still coughing, but I'm looking forward to doing as much as I can at work and working out tomorrow. 

I have my intro video ready for this Friday. The dragonflies will be nice addition and I'll play my guitar while it's running. I should be healed by then so I will sing Blessed Assurance and Phil will play. 

Leading worship today was quite the struggle with my voice, but I made it. Luckily we have a forgiving congregation. 

Denise and Grace, and Adam, but mostly the girls, talked about their experience on the mission trip. It was very moving.

happy sunday july 19th, 2026

I woke up at 2:30 am coughing. I decided I really needed to get in the shower and that helped a lot. I was able to go back to bed, except I had to prop the pillow up, and slept for a couple of more hours. I had a rather disturbing dream about the worship team and I'm so glad Phil is more responsible than whoever printed the words in my dream. 


I still haven't heard from James or Melissa Carter.  When I see them posting again, then I'll know that it is that James is not going to communicate with me anymore, but I still think he wouldn't be that petty. I'm just glad to know they're ok, just dealing with something right now. I'm ok if they never tell me about it, I just don't want our relationship severed. I'll keep praying for them.

It's not a good day to film. I did however, need to get something from Target and then we went to McDonald's. I had to leave though as soon as I was done eating because my cough was coming back. 

So then we went home and relaxed. We are preparing to lead music tomorrow.

I was becoming concerned because I hadn't heard or seen any posts from James and Melissa in a couple of days. I know I was outspoken about something that had been bothering me, but I really didn't think James would be so petty to not answer any of my texts, so I knew something was wrong. I would not have worried quite as much if he was posting, but he wasn't even posting. It must be a problem that is deeply personal that he doesn't feel comfortable sharing and I'm totally okay with that. I'm just glad to know that at least someone has heard from them. 

So I wait. 

One thing I want to do when I'm finally better is vacuum my house and then I need to clean the bathrooms.

Filming music video


I coughed quite a bit this morning which helped a lot to be on the road to recovery. I feel good enough to film the music video, but I do wonder if it's too humid outside. When I went in the sunroom to water the flowers it was quite hot. I guess we will see. It wouldn't take very long to do this scene. The fires in Canada tho, that's definitely making an impact on air quality. 😱

Psalms 2 will be my next reading for Sweet Tea and Psalms 
I will be singing Blessed Assurance. I'm so excited for my new show. It's such a great way to dive into the scriptures and really learn how to apply them to daily life.

Bad Air Quality Walk


I've been staying home all week because of being sick and I really needed to get out of the house, so we went for a walk. It was hard in some ways because of the heat and air quality, but I really needed it. The fires in Canada are contributing to the poor air quality.

it's almost friday

Sweet Tea and Psalms 



Sweet Tea and Psalms series is almost here. It will be exciting to finally get this underway. In the future, I plan to record blog posts and post to YouTube and I'll put the links here. They will be exclusive blog only posts. 

Sleep


I actually slept pretty good last night. It was hard at first to lay down, but sucking on a cough drop while sitting up helped, then I was able to lie down and go to sleep. I slept 6 hours. It was a good solid sleep with no interruptions. I'll probably stay home again today since that's what I want to do, but I'm looking forward to hitting the gym Monday and getting caught up on my exercises. 

Filming


We film the music video this Friday if my voice is well enough. It might have to wait until August since Windsong Pictures is filming the movie July 24th. But we can do the music video for Psalm 71 since we already have the singing parts completed. 🤗 I'll see how I feel this weekend.

guitar strumming

Recovering From A Cold


I have been taking breaks from watching a show on #netflix in order to practice #guitar . I am thinking of playing guitar when I start my Sweet Tea and Psalms series this Friday. Since it's just random strumming, I won't have to worry about copyright. 


Keyboard


I did play my own version of Blessed Assurance on the #keyboard this morning. I'm going to have Phil help me write down the notes I'm playing to make future playing easier. I did write down the notes, but I think some are incorrect. The more I play, the more I figure out other notes to play. 

Work


I am thinking that depending on how it goes tonight, I might be able to return to work Thursday. It seems my cough has lessened despite waking up at 2:30 and having to take a shower at 3 am. 

I'm meeting with a friend next Thursday to show her my new format so she can see if she would be interested in doing something similar.

another attempt

So this the hundredth time trying to write a blog. Haha! It is possible I can be more consistent now that I have a new format. 
I will test the waters and then worry about customizing the look. It seems like I can spend an hour doing that and then I stop posting. I am really busy with my YouTube channel, so there is that. I've been sick with a cold lately so that has opened up more time to do this. What do you think? Is it hard for you to be consistent?
